Overview

I try to provide mediation services at a reasonable cost.  I base my fees on the number of parties involved and the length of time allotted for mediation.  I do not base my fees on the amount in controversy because I believe every case deserves my best efforts on behalf of all the parties.  Occasionally a fee based upon the following schedule may be inappropriate for a particular type of case or may be unaffordable for a party.  I will consider adjusting fees or make other arrangements in those circumstances with advance notice.  I will also consider weekend mediation sessions if requested by the
parties; however, I add a 10% surcharge for weekend sessions.  I am also willing to travel outside the metropolitan Houston area for mediations.  Travel expenses will be billed at cost and split evenly between parties. There will be no professional fees charged for travel time within Texas.

Full Day Mediation

Fees are charged on the basis of a flat fee per party for each day of mediation. I charge $1500 per party for in-person full day mediation and $1400 per party for an online full day mediation.  All fees are due and payable prior to the mediation.  Full day mediations start at 9:00 a.m. and continue until concluded. If a full day mediation is in person a working lunch will be provided.  Most mediations conclude by 5:00 p.m., but if progress is being made I will not shut down a mediation just because the clock has run out. 

Half Day Mediation

I charge $800 per party for an in-person half day mediation and $750 per party for an online half day of mediation.  All fees are due and payable prior to the mediation. Half day mediations start at either 9:00 am or 1:30 p.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. respectively.  Half day mediations do not include lunch.

Rescheduling and Cancellations

Cancellations made at least one week prior to the date of mediation will receive a full refund of any fee paid.  Cancellations made after that will result in the total mediation fee being due and payable.  However, if the parties promptly reschedule the mediation with me I will apply the mediation fee from the cancelled mediation to the rescheduled mediation.
